Vinland Saga synopsis: Young Thorfinn had grown up listening to the stories of old sailors who had traveled the ocean and reached Vinland, the place of legend.

They say it’s warm and fertile, a place where there’s no need to fight, like the frozen village in Iceland where he was born, and certainly not his current mercenary life.

Now the war’s his home. Although his father used to tell him, “You don’t have enemies, no one does. There is nobody who it’s okay to hurt,” as he grew, Thorfinn knew that nothing was further from the truth.

Every year the war between England and Denmark gets worse. Death has become routine, and the Viking mercenaries are loving every moment of it.

The alliance with either side would have a huge impact on the balance of power, and the vikings would be happy to make a name for themselves and take all the spoils that came with it.

Among the chaos, Thorfinn must take his revenge and kill Askeladd, the man who murdered his father. The only paradise for the vikings, it seems, is the era of war and death that rages on.
